Veterinary Procedures
We’re proud to have helped hundreds of pets with our professional in-home veterinary procedures.
We build meaningful relationships with our pet guardians in order to create a health plan that is personalized to the specific needs of your four-legged friend. This is especially important when it comes to the in-home veterinary procedures we offer. Our state-of-the-art mobile units are well equipped to perform the medical and dental procedures your pet may need.
Our veterinarians will determine if your pet’s procedure requires the use of general anesthesia, which is used to control your pet’s level of consciousness for a pain-free procedure. Before administering any medication, we’ll perform a thorough physical exam and review your pet’s medical history. If our veterinarians feel that your pet should undergo anesthesia, we’ll let you know immediately and give our expert guidance so you feel comfortable moving forward.
Veterinary Procedures
BIOPSY
A biopsy is a surgical procedure in which a tissue sample is removed from your pet’s body and examined under a special microscope. In some veterinary cases, an entire growth may be removed or examined to help your veterinarian determine if your pet is at risk of cancerous cells or tissue.
ABDOMINOCENTESIS OR THORACOCENTESIS
Abdominocentesis is a medical procedure that allows our veterinarians to see if fluid is present within your pet’s abdomen, while a thoracentesis procedure will show if fluid is present within the chest cavity. During a centesis procedure, our veterinarian professional will set up an ultrasound to remove any fluid from your pet’s cavity using a needle that will ultimately help relieve pressure and determine the root cause of your pet’s underlying illness. Fluid in the abdomen or chest can develop in association with liver disease, heart failure, cancer, or even tumors. If you feel your pet is having difficulty breathing, contact us today.
DENTAL
If your dog or cat is in need of professional dental procedures such as exams or cleaning, our vets are there for you to provide a safe and pain-free examination of your pet’s mouth and teeth. Our practice is sufficiently capable to perform this at home under sedation as long as no dental surgery is required. If surgery such as gum flaps or extractions are deemed necessary, we can transport your pet to our cooperative clinic and perform dental radiographs.
Our dental examinations and cleaning include:
- A complete oral examination where our vets will look to identify any problems beneath the gum line that might be causing pain for your pet. Some issues include periodontal disease, broken teeth, and/or abscesses.
- A full dental cleaning of the gum line which protects them against periodontal disease.
- A professional scaling and polishing of their teeth to remove harmful plaque and calculus.
