Our veterinary phone consultations allow you to speak with one of our experts and discuss the condition of your pet’s health that has you feeling worried. Based on the information you provide, we’ll be able to offer an assessment and help determine the best course of action for your pet, whether that be monitoring their behavior or scheduling an appointment for our mobile veterinarian to visit your home.
Please note that a phone consultation is in no way considered a substitute for a complete physical exam with an experienced veterinarian.
DAYTIME PHONE CONSULTATION
A daytime phone consultation with PriVET Pet Care takes place during our normal hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. These consults are generally done with new clients who are seeking answers about their pet’s condition. In most cases, the situation is less dire than originally thought, saving them a trip to the vet.
During your consultation with one of our trained vets, you will be asked to provide important details about your pet including their name, age, species, breed, current symptoms, existing medical conditions, and any medication they are on. Each call lasts about 15 minutes, during which the veterinarian will provide you with a differential diagnosis.
During a radiology consultation, a board-certified veterinary radiologist will examine the provided images in order to provide you with a proper diagnosis for your pet.
Depending on your pet’s current medical condition, it may be necessary to perform a historical review consultation, where our expert veterinarians will examine any prior conditions to determine if they are currently affecting your pet’s health. If needed, our mobile veterinarian may also run lab work to facilitate the diagnosis of your pet and provide the correct medical care. We kindly ask that you provide us with the source of prior medical services.
PHONE CONSULT SPECIALIST
For our current PriVET Pet Care pet guardians, we gladly offer free phone consultations! If you have worked with us in the past and are looking to talk with one of our phone consult specialists, you will need to provide the name and number of any previous vets who have treated your pet, as well as any necessary information about their current condition. Then, we will provide a list of possible diagnoses and help contact a specialist who can provide a more accurate diagnosis. Typically, you can expect a return phone call within 24 hours once our specialist has had time to evaluate the information provided.
Need help interpreting lab results, radiographic and imaging? Our experts will gladly help interpret what these results mean and provide our best recommendations over the phone.
In addition to interpreting lab results, images and radiology reports, our certified veterinarians can also help you review your pet’s medical records.
